Professionals today often rely on laptops and mobile devices, but this mobility has introduced serious data and security risks. Over 600,000 laptops are stolen or lost every year.
In response to this security risk, CyberAngel partnered with Skyhook to add WPS-enabled laptop tracking to its laptop security application. Together, they developed The CyberAngel Wi-Trac asset tracking and recovery service. When activated, Wi-Trac transmits an alert to CyberAngel, and the lost or stolen computer is located using WPS. Wi-Trac maintains a real-time tracking connection, while the CyberAngel Recovery Team notifies law enforcement officials and helps provide rapid recovery of the computer.
