QA Engineer

Job Description

Skyhook is looking for an experienced Software QA Engineer. Our ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience testing client-server software. Experience with mobile is a plus, but is not required. You will be responsible for planning, scoping, and executing tests of new and existing features across multiple projects. Testing will include design review, API testing, functional validation, error handling, and performance testing, as well as automating tests when it is appropriate. Must be able to communincate effectively with developers for the purposes of understanding design goals as well as providing appropriate feedback in the form of bug reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Break complex projects and tasks down to managable subfeatures.
  • Write code in C/C++ and Java as needed to create tests for our SDK.
  • Report and maintain the details of assigned and discovered bugs in our bug tracking system.
  • Ability to research new technologies independently.
  • Must have a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understand risk and be able to provide appropriate feedback regarding bug priorities.
  • Provide product support to both partners and consumers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Able to code in C/C++ and Java
  • Able to write scripts capable of text processing (such as Python or Perl)
  • A solid understanding of SQL, and the ability to write complex queries
  • Working knowledge of a variety of operating systems, and the ability to pick up new ones

Desired:

  • Experience in mobile
  • Tomcat experience
  • Experience with large scale server environments
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

R&D Engineer

Job Description

Candidate in this position will work on different Skyhook positioning technologies to enhance and also to farther optimize them. Candidate will help the company to explore new approaches and new positioning technologies.

Another aspect of the work involves statistical analysis of anonymous usage-data of millions of devices using Skyhook solution, worldwide. The statistical analysis is not only to improve Skyhook core positioning technologies, but also to conduct temporal and spatial analysis of behavior of users of the system.

Candidate is also going to help to improve Skyhook patent portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Master in Science, PhD is preferred.
  • Strong math background, specifically probability and statistics
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language, i.e. C/C++, JAVA, or Matlab
  • Strong writing skills

Preferred:

  • EE and CS fields
  • Couple of years industry experience
  • Experience with GPS
  • Experience with inertial systems
  • Experience with handling large data, and statistical data analysis
  • Experience with radio propagation

Responsibilities:

  • Manage client relationships with enterprise customers and application developers
  • Develop awareness and drive new business by promoting our location intelligence solutions to Ad Agencies, Ad Networks, brands and developers
  • Prospect business opportunities with new and existing clients
  • Develop and maintain an intimate knowledge of Skyhook's solutions and be able to position them effectively
  • Negotiate and close agreements with Clients
  • Support new Customers through our on-boarding process
  • Exceed quarterly objectives

Requirements:

  • BS required
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred with an emphasis on consumer web or mobile services/li>
  • Proven ability to independently manage and develop ongoing client relationships, with an emphasis on up-selling additional services
  • A track record of success in managing a sales plan
  • Experience determining customer requirements and presenting marketing solutions
  • Pro-active, independent thinker with high energy/positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
